That picture was taken on Main Street I believe, or possibly the alley between Main and Spring. But as far as Renfro "driving down to Skid Row" to score, haven't you heard that Skid Row has officially been pushed further eastward since the white people with money moved into the converted lofts in the area? Skid Row now doesn't begin until at least Los Angeles Street, maybe even Maple. You think I'm joking, but I even see white people walking down Main Street walking their dogs, occasionally. Oh sure, the process is still ongoing, but you come back in five years and look at all the bookstores, art galleries and Starbucks, and you tell me who's in control of the neighborhood.

Check out Renfro trivia on imdb.com. He's got quite a record of drug charges! Can't really call him "unfortunate."
