When One Door Closes...

Well it is two doors in the last few months, but still...

While UponShop is shuttering its brick and mortar spot, the NYC staple, Turntable Lab, has opened up shop . They are very much ships passing in the night. Uponshop hosted a fire sale last Saturday while Turntable Lab held a soft launch party at the very same time. They even have similar record sensibilities. As we noted yesterday, Uponshop was/is all about the rare grooves and Turntable Lab is all about the hip hop records making great use of those rare grooves.

In grand LAist fashion, we wanted to make it to both the goodbye and the hello last weekend and missed both.

Losanjealous, at least, made it to one of them.
