Very small feet
That there Jason Toney's got some pretty big shoes. Behind the scenes at LAist, he has been universally kind and gentle with us contributors. And up front on LAist you probably have noticed that he's smart, witty and engaged with the city in a way that is always interesting. Thank goodness he's not really leaving.
So I can only aspire to fitting my small, sometimes obnoxious feet in his footsteps. Thankfully Marleigh is here to shove me on track if I stray from the path. And I hope that you, too, will chime in. Our comments door is always open.
What else? I love Los Angeles, or at least, the parts of LA that aren't in mini-malls. Lately I've been thinking about themes that characterize the city: self-invention (people), reinvention (neighborhoods), imaginariness (tinseltown) and precariousness (earthquakes). Did I miss anything?
And if that makes you think that I'm working on some damn college paper (I am), here's a different invitation: what's your favorite Thai food restaurant in Los Angeles? Mine, by far, is Mae Ploy in Silverlake. Too bad they stop delivering at 9:30pm.
