Gettin' Wood for NOLA

Tonight, LAist heads to the House of Blues, which is holding a benefit for its New Orleans employees still displaced by Katrina. A $5 donation at the door secures entry into what promises to be a fun lineup of local acts including dark-alt hipsters Run Run Run, metal tweakers Skumlove, hair-band hotties Cockpit (4 chicks a little easy on the talent, but even easier on the eyes), and -- most excitingly -- the Ultra Violet Burlesque, which, um, uplifting raunch kicks off around 10. All proceeds go to the victims, so we figure it'll be one of the few nights we actually end up with better karma than when we started.
