We always get our information from the internets so we have yet to use the LA Info Line or the City Hall line or the MTA roadside assistance line but if the 211 website is to believed, apparently if you call them somebody will come to your house and surprise you with flowers. That must be why folks are calling those other numbers instead of 911 lately right? Don't misunderstand us, that people are getting their non-emergency information from the right sources now is definitely a good thing. We just can't figure out why the website features an older woman excitedly receiving a bouquet while her friends look on. Who knew our city's resources provided that kind of service?

211 is what you call when you're trying to figure out where to call for "humanity services" in LA County. They use healthycity.org as their resource database.

311 is your connection to city services. They'll help you reach your City Council member or your local fire or police department. This is the complaint line for you neighborhood busy bodies peeking out your window at your new neighbors.

399 gets you your own roadside assistance or the Metro Freeway Patrol. Metro Freeway Service will tow your car for you if you don't have AAA.
