LAist Featured Photo Essay: 5th Annual Haute Dog Howl'oween Parade

According to Justin, more than $10,000 was raised on "Howl'oween Sunday," Oct. 30 at the 5th Annual "Haute Dog Howl'oween Parade and Canine Costume Contest" in Long Beach, CA. The day's festivities included a 150-pet Super Adoption Fair; a Bulldog Kissing Booth; a 45-lb. pumpkin smash; a silent auction; a pet-themed vendor fair; bobbing for Howl'oweenies; disc dog and dancing dog demonstrations; and a 250-kid Costume Contest. The highlight of the day was the 557 costumed dogs who paraded 12-blocks in front of a panel of judges and several thousand spectators who lined the sidewalks of the trendy 2nd St. business district. The Howl'oween Parade and it's equally successful sister events -- the Haute Dog Easter Parade and the Bulldog Beauty Contest -- are orchestrated annually by Justin Rudd and benefit his nonprofit 501c3 Community Action Team (CAT) that includes Operation Santa Paws and Haute Dogs.
