Stop and Go

Last year about this time, we had a lively discussion about the cameras being installed at red lights around the city. Come to find out this morning, courtesy of an eye catching headline in The Times, that for the past few months, those cameras haven't even been working. You mean to tell us we could've been playing chicken with the Orange Line all weekend and no one would've been the wiser?

The Daily News was in on the same conversation with Councilman Zine when this tidbit was revealed but chose to focus on the future: The proposed doubling of those cameras at the city's busiest intersections.

We can only assume that once they're set up that they'll actually be turned on.
