Collateral Damage

While the President is in town admiring the original Air Force One and mucking up the streets (and, by extension, fashion week), the governor isn't happy with him. Well, honestly, the governor can't be happy with much lately. The LA Weekly delves into how our once über-popular state head has become as unliked as, well, President Bush. We especially like Marc Cooper's take which suggests that Mr. Schwarzenegger's decline has come about because, unlike the Terminator, he's just a man:

When he finally had time to stop and think, to craft his strategy, he ran right up against his limitations. His human limitations. His limitations as a man and, worse, as a politician.

Bill Bradley is, perhaps, less kind, calling his "Year of Reform" and undercooked soufflé.

Meanwhile, if all the political ads on tv haven't drowned you in reminders, we do have a special election coming up on November 8th. The Weekly endorses their favorite propositions this week as well. (hint, they only like 79 and 80 - Cheap Drugs and No Blackouts in 2005!)
