True Hip Hop Heads Gots to Get Their Tree Fed

We should have known better than to question the rap-fu of the celebrities in the crowd at the Spin '05 Finals. We know that Big Poppa Piven rocks the black Frank White as his cell phone ringtone and fans in the know have informed us that the man known as Pedro is also a damn fine turntablist in his own right. And then there's Andy Milonakis. How we could've doubted his hip hop heritage when he drops rhymes about pancakes and bologna in the theme song for his show, we'll never know.

He writes in:

One of my friends told me that they saw my name on your website and that my knowledge of hiphop was questioned. No big deal, assume all you want. For the record I've been listening to rap/hiphop all of my life. I walked into first grade with a custom made slick rick and doug e fresh sweater. I cuddled the fat boys first album on vinyl like little kids cuddle with teddy bears. Other kids were playing nintendo while I was out in my complex watching motherfuckers flatten out card board boxes. Just for the record my man.

LAist got egg on its face but don't call us an egg face.

Or something.

The Fat Boys? Really? Owning The Fat Boys on vinyl qualifies honkies for hip-hop street cred? Goddamn, had I known that all those years ago I wouldn't have wasted my time on listening to Big Daddy Kane, Lords of the Underground or MC Shan!

Disorderlies is overrated. House Party is the real classic.
