One Tip at a Time
The media coverage of Katrina permeated our hearts and minds this week. Angelenos are just as horrified as the rest of the US at the devastation, suffering and lethargic relief efforts.
After being pummeled all week, it was extremely uplifting to see one Angeleno doing her small part. Jo, a hard-working waitress, is making a difference... one tip at a time.
She's explained that she's on a tight budget, so this was the best way she could contribute to the relief effort. Every cent of every tip earned this evening will go to the Red Cross.
Swingers is open until 4am. So if you get the urge for a late night snack, why not stop by and give Jo a generous tip. You'll get a good meal, good service and you'll be making a difference. Who said charity was hard? Sometimes it comes with a side of fries.
Thanks, Jo, for restoring our hope.

Jo raised $500 last night! Thanks to all the LAist readers that supported her effort. If you missed your chance yesterday, you can still contribute via the Red Cross website.
