<description>&lt;p&gt;&quot;The corner of Gardner and Sunset is a special corner. Actually, it looks pretty ordinary.&quot;


The corner may be ordinary, but the intersection isn&apos;t.  Notice the diaganol formed by the parking lots on the northeast and southwest corner of intersection.  This was the former private right-of-way for the Pacific Electric Hollywood line, where it intersected Sunset. This area was called Gardner Junction, because in the early days, another line broke off from this point and headed down Sunset to Laurel Canyon.

Here&apos;s a pic of the intersection in 1927, with a streetcar heading towards the southwest corner...
