Practice Makes Perfect

016_747883702613.jpg

While the Clippers didn't sign Ray Allen, they still have made a splash this offseason. Yesterday, LA's other basketball team announced they would build a new practice facility in Playa Vista, finally putting them on par with other NBA teams.

Even more impressive is that Donald Sterling is funding the whole $20 million facility himself, leading some to believe that his super cheapskate days may be coming to an end.

In order to compete in professional sports, teams need to provide the necessary resources to succeed. That includes building your own practice facility and team center. It was embarrassing that the Clippers were one of a small handful of NBA teams without one, and that they kept practicing at Southwest LA College, or the El Segundo Spectrum. Free agents may or may not flock to Clipperland as a result of this, but at least this move shows a real committment to improving.

it would still be nice for them to not play their summer league games in Vegas

I hope they re-sign Simmons

it would be nice for the Clippers to get the limelight for a change

I'm still under the impression they should move to Anaheim, they'd at least sell out most games
