MONDAY

• Former Shudder to Think guitarist Nathan Larson is at Amoeba Music tonight at 7 PM for a free in-store performance.

Gen Art presents a special advance screening of Hustle & Flow tonight at the Arclight. Note: Tickets are currently only available to members (new members included), but the cost of a ticket includes admission to the after party at Mood from 9:30 PM – 11:30 PM.

• Foreign Born is performing tonight at Spaceland with zZz and The Upside Down. Doors open at 9 PM.

TUESDAY

• Architecture in Helsinki is at The Echo tonight with Scrabble and Army/Navy. Doors open at 8:30 PM; tickets are $8.

• At The Fold at Tangier, Dustin O'Halloran will be performing solo on the piano, along with Monster and Josh Haden, as well as DJ Rocket Project on the patio. Cover is $15.

WEDNESDAY

• Brit pop sensations Maximo Park are at the Troubadour with The Blood Arm and Troubled Hubble. Tickets are $12 advance; doors open at 8 PM.

• Fountains of Wayne perform acoustic tonight at Largo. Doors open at 8 PM.

• The Arclight features a special screening of David Lynch's Blue Velvet at 8 PM.

THURSDAY

• Bane are at the Troubadour tonight with Evergreen Terrace, Cursed and Verse. Doors open at 7 PM; tickets are $12 advance.

• The Knitting Factory is hopping tonight: in the Main Room, see Helio Sequence, Rogue Wave and Audio Out Send at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $10 advance, $12 at the door. In the Front Room, Afrirampo, Babyland, Scout Niblett and The Pope are performing at 7:30 PM. Tickets are $10.

• Fountains of Wayne perform acoustic tonight at Largo. Doors open at 8 PM.

AIGA Los Angeles presents "Open Book: The True Story of Book Design" at the Pasadena Museum of California Art. Michael Carabetta, design director of Chronicle Books, leads a panel of local designers and authors discussing their adventures in book design from 6:30 – 9:30 PM. Registration is required (no later than June 29), and admission ranges from $10 — $30 (admission is $10 extra at the door).

• A special kick-off show for Echo Park's Fuck Yeah Fest will happen tonight at midnight at the Knitting Factory. The headlining guest will not be announced until the show (it will be a "very special band from Canada"), but it will feature DJ sets by Keith Morris and Sam Velde. The party is all ages and admission is free.

FRIDAY

The Fold at El Cid features Willowz, Lion Fever and Bellmer Dolls tonight at 7 PM.

• At the Egyptian Theatre, a double feature of Ebirah, Horror of the Deep and King Kong vs. Godzilla at 7:30 PM.

• Local violinist and singer Petra Haden is at the Ford Amphitheatre covering The Who’s Sell Out, with Stephen Prina opening at 8:30 PM.

SATURDAY

• It's the return of the Fuck Yeah Fest in Echo Park, featuring Dillinger Four, Obsolete Heart, Division Day, Rolling Blackouts, Your Enemies Friends, Giant Drag, Beehive and the Barracudas, The Top Drawer, The Hips, The Pope, The Navies, The Red Onions, Bad Dudes, Upsilon Acrux, Curl Up and Die, Toys That Kill, Greg Ashley of Gris Gris, Wives, The Amandans, Bobby Dazzler, Cinema City, The oohlas, Mojo Filters, Darker My Love, Wires on Fire, Mean Reds, Limbeck, Travis Shettel of Piebald, DJ sets by Keith Morris (of the Circle Jerks), Cali Dewitt and Travis Keller, plus a comedy show hosted by Jonah Ray. The Festival will take place at The Echo, Sea Level Records, Taix Restaurant and the Jensen Rec Center. One dollar from each $6 admission is going to rebuild the former PCH Club in Wilmington.
