Deviant Tokyo

One of the coolest things (amongst a whole lotta cool) for aspiring artists at DeviantArt's Summit this weekend has got to be TOKYPOP participating in the event. TOKYOPOP, the largest English-language manga publisher in the world, is sending reps to look at portfolios (here's a tip, bring your most recent work, not your old stuff) and editor Lillian Diaz-Przbyl will be part of the "How to Get Published" panel on Saturday.

DeviantArt is the place to be for artists online. This summit, at the Hollywood Palladium and going on right now, features classes and panels, a very, very cool "creation station" for artists to put together new pieces should they get inspired there and a whole host of other things for the graffiti artist, the pixel manipulator and the photographer. Registration has not closed so you can still get in for both days for $55.
