Check Out the Library Store Sale

bookshelf.jpg

LAist loves books aplenty, and we also love free things. Combine these two loves and you get the Los Angeles Public Library; build a central branch the size of a mall, and you have geek heaven. But the free books to borrow service has a pricetag--like so many wonderful things--and LAPL's Library Store has a way for us to pitch in this month (aside from paying those overdue fees we know we have stored on our keychain card) to help out a good cause.

From June 13-19, the Library Store is having their first annual Vendor Sample Sale. They have merchandise that has been generously donated by some of their vendors that will be for sale at low prices. All proceeds will benefit the Los Angeles Public Library. This event is followed by the Clearance sale, from June 20-30, when selected items will be discounted 50%. They'll freshen up the sale tables daily with new merchandise. On our last visit to this mecca of books we fell in love with this charming gift shop, and can vouch that they have all sorts of neat book, art, and gifty items. Would it be too obvious to say "check it out?" We are talking about a library, after all.
