Everybody Loves Raymond

For the first time in over a decade, the Lakers took part in the NBA Draft Lottery. While the ping pong balls didn't bounce LA's way, not all was lost.

Much like the NFL Draft, this is a weak class at the top, led by University of Utah player. Andrew Bogut will probably be a solid NBA center, ala Vlade Divac, but that's not the kind of franchise-changing player you hope to get at No. 1.

Instead, most pundits have the Lakers filling their obvious point guard need at No. 10 with Raymond Felton. If that happens, then LAist would be thrilled. Felton proved he's phenomenal player, leading North Carolina to a National Championship. He's the type of guard who plays like a quarterback, and can set up other players on the team for scores. Right now, the Lakers need someone not named Kobe Bryant to take the ball up the floor, and Felton seems as good of a candidate as anyone.
