BUT - throwaway cameras are cheap, and if you can send enough pictures in, they&apos;ll dismiss the ticket. 

The trick is to make sure that the photo shows the meter&apos;s &apos;fail&apos; screen. 

I&apos;ve just sent these photos in with the ticket (and no money), and they are always dismissed. 

You can print out digital photos, too.. they work just as well. I just happen to keep a throwaway camera in my glove box, so it&apos;s handy. &lt;/p&gt;</description>

<description>&lt;p&gt;In Santa Monica, if ticketed in broken meter spot, you simply call and give the time of ticket. The city checks the time with their meter record and can verify if the meter was working or not. If the system shows broken, ticket is waived. &lt;/p&gt;</description>
