Well, I'd have to heartily disagree with you assessment. I thoroughly enjoyed the film, despite having no previous knowledge of the Hitchhiker books or Douglas Adams. I had been under the impression that Douglas Adams was one of those nouveau hippie writers like Tom Robbins, and I had avoided his books, or knowing anything about him, even though my boyfriend is a huge fan. I thought that the film was very accessible to Douglas Adams virgins—unlike all the Harry Potter movies, which make fun of you if you don’t know the difference between a hogwarth and a moggle.

But what if you're a fan of Adams AND got angry watching "Mulholland Drive?"
