It's Pedal-Wonderful.

Speaking of biking, why not pull out those bikes this weekend, folks? Not only is the Bike Show coming to town (notes blogdowntown.com), but the weather looks to be fine for pedaling around town (we'll believe the scattered thunderstorms when we see them).

Compliments of LAist, a few biking resources to get you going:

Some saavy bikers have put together a great site on bike paths in Los Angeles, excellent for the uninitiated. Lots of pictures, with
advice and comments from trail-worn LA bike riders. Stop by the Bicycle Kitchen at 706 Heliotrope @ Melrose, to fix up your wheels and soak in the urban cycling culture. Also, you can get inspired at monthly Critical Mass Bike Rides, or any one a dozen other organzied rides around the city.

LAist notes that car-crazed Angelenos have about two weeks to get "geared up" (bad pun, we apologize) for National Bike Month. Bike month even has a blog. But doesn't everyone, nowadays?

For LA bike riders, May will be just a precursor to the much-anticipated Bike Summer 2005--the month-long Los Angeles-hosted biking extravaganza kicking off with Choppercabras on May 29.

Who said LA has to be for drivers only?

Thanks so much for writing about bikes. I'm doing the Aids/Lifecycle (riding from San Fran to LA in seven days to raise money for AIDS) this year and love when people mention cycling in SOCAL. This is the best place to cycle year round.
