Tribal Revival

We stopped in Wednesday night to check it out after admiring the cafe's construction from afar all these months. The staff's hard work has paid off; the cafe is filled with murals and artwork in vibrant colors.

The cafe is open from 3 PM to 3 AM and was quite busy at 11 PM when we visited.

April is Latino month and includes Robert and Emilio of Luna Tierra Sol Cafe launching their spoken words weekly series at the cafe. In May the cafe will host a series of get-togethers for Onyx Cafe devotees.

Tribal Cafe's building once housed a dive bar called The Traveler's Cafe. We can only hope that the patrons of our current favorite dive, Lupita's Bar, across the street welcome their new neighbors and won't be put off by the fact that, unlike Lupita's, Tribal Cafe has a working front door, unlike the curtain that hangs at the entrance of Lupita's .
