All Beer, No Foam.

If you're planning on chowing out in Malibu this summer, you won't be taking your leftovers home in a box. Not a polystyrene box, anyway. The City of Malibu has opted to go polystyrene-free, beginning July 1 which is cool with us.

We note that not a single Malibu business showed up at the City Council meeting to oppose the measure, leaving a small gaggle of industry lobbyists to laud the virtues of polystyrene packaging. Perhaps the uncanny ability of foam cups to find their way to the beach?

LAist prefers to cart home leftovers in those funky foil swans.

So for all the reasons there are to hate on Malibu (Malibu Barbie, Barbara Streisand... and really, just because they have nicer houses than we do), here's one reason to give them some love.
