But our current question concerns the mysterious death (and subsequent local media blackout) of Republican politico R. Gregory Stevens on or about February 26th. News of his untimely demise didn't really get into the LA newstream until March 4th in LA Observed.
The kicker is that Stevens died in Carrie Fisher's guestroom. He'd been staying with La Fisher in order to attend Academy Award festivities, including a pre-Oscar bash on Friday, February 25th hosted by Bryan Lourd, an uber agent and the father of Fisher's child. No word yet on the exact cause of Mr. Stevens's death, but we're all pondering the real unspoken question hovering over this Oscar tragedy; what Fisher was doing hanging around a Republican operative... but no one's talking. Even Ted Casablanca remains mum on the subject. He published a cryptic quote about the news in his "Awful Truth" column on today's Eonline.com saying "Nobody talks bad about Carrie."
We can forgive Carrie, a beloved, ex-Goodtime Sally, anything, but we can't help but wonder if our Princess Leia has gone over to the dark side and embraced the Republicans. We comfort ourselves with the thought that recovering addicts and compassionate manic-depressive survivors attract strange bedfellows...

I want to get confirmation on this, but before any further political aspersions are cast, logic would seem to suggest that Stevens was likely a member of the Stevens family, of whom Connie Stevens was, at a past date, Carrie Fisher's step-mother.
Good point. The Freepers had the same idea but haven't been able to come up with proof of a connection between R. Gregory Stevens and Connie Stevens. Keep looking
