The big day is here--municipal election day. Hertzberg, Villaraigosa, and Hahn are the front-runners, as we said a few moons ago. Whether you pick one of those three or the two longshots (Parks and Alarcon) the important thing is to get out and vote. The level of civic engagement in this city is pathetic, and don't let yourself be a part of that disgrace to democracy.
As to who we are endorsing? This LAist had a long discussion with former editor Tom Berman on the subject. He suggests that Antonio Villaraigosa is the best candidate to revitalize civic culture in Los Angeles, which might be right. However, on a policy level, we believe that Bob Hertzberg is the best man to lead the City, and isn't exactly lacking for energy either. If you pick either one of those qualified candidates, the City will be better off for it.

Hey there, for you Antonio fans, some of us at LAist have already cast our Villaraigosa vote. (Our last editorial meeting was challened by rain and gin, so forgive our mixed messages).
In fact at our household we decided to vote for both (the Mrs. chose Hertzberg, I drew Villaraigosa).
Vote for Big Ideas. Vote for Bob.
It probably won't do any good, but Tony V. fans might want to read this.
