The Morning's Stories: Rain and Crime Free

The sun is shining where we are and we just got back from the dentist so we don't want to even think about the rain. Please don't point out that the clouds are rolling in again or that we've got another thunder storm expected this afternoon. La la la la. We can't hear you.

We're just going to check out today's Daily Breeze and their story on the ever decreasing crime rate in the South Bay. Most promising statistic in the piece? In 2000, there were 44 murders in the area; last year, only 14. That's impressive. And as if to showcase the stellar work of the police force in that part of the city, the Breeze lets us know that four Redondo Beach students were arrested for burglary, another Redondo man was arrested in connection with some car robberies in Hermosa, and in Torrance, the police raided a mid-level drug ring and got large amounts of cash and coke on the table.

That's not all. What would the Daily Breeze be without a stupid crook story? Allegedly Christopher Lee Arnold was smart enough to steal over a million dollars worth of electronics but wasn't smart enough to remember to bring the power cord with the plasma TV. When he went to purchase the replacement cord, the police were waiting for him.
