Introductions

My name is Jason Toney and I'm the new editor of LAist.com. Hi there. Happy Valentine's Day.

I've been a contributor here for just a little over three months. I wasn't born in LA but I've spent most of my life here and in the San Fernando Valley in particular. I work in television. I also have a personal blog.

LAist currently has 11 regular contributors covering news, sports, events, art, architecture, and the people of Los Angeles. We plan to continue on doing that and doing it even better. And have no fear! Marleigh and Adrienne are still here as co-editors, adding their characteristic spice to our little paella of a site.

We'd also like to note the launch of two sibling sites: Bostonist and Seattlest. We're not sure why Boston needs the good fortune of getting an -ist blog after winning both the World Series and the Super Bowl in the last four months. We can't imagine what the formerly long suffering New Englanders are going to do with this newfound embarrassment of riches.

We're also left to wonder about Seattle. Once you get done talking about the rain and the coffee what else is there?

We kid, we kid. We wish Bostonist and Seattlest the best of luck. Go check them out!

congrats mr. jt! how do you do it all?

Woohoo!

Now when are we having a party?

Good to have you board, Jason. Congrats Marleigh, Adrienne and the staff. If you ever need anything from SFist (except for, of course, water), we've got your back.

Cheers!
