Going to the Dogs
While many might argue that Hollywood has gone to the dogs, there are those of us who’d rather look on the bright side. So that’s why we go to Hollywood to get some great dogs.
The Los Angeles pantheon of beloved hot dog purveyors has recently welcomed Skooby’s at 6654 Hollywood Boulevard into the ranks. Though they’ve yet to earn longevity creds equivalent to those of Tail O’ the Pup or Pink’s, give ‘em some time. We're confident they will.
Skooby’s grilled dogs that snap, homemade lemonade, and fresh batches of crisp fries and chips make this outpost one of the rare food destinations on the Boulevard worth seeking out. (Turkey and soy dogs are also available.) Plus it’s conveniently located to Musso’s for the post-hot dog martini. What could be better?
Since Hollywood was largely founded on entertainment, a dose of that might be fitting. The clever Skooby’s guys have already thought of it. Skooby's After Dark features live music on Saturday nights from 10:00 PM ‘til past midnight during which local bands add their touch to the Hollywood’s own ever-present, richly textured soundtrack of the street.
If you prefer your hot dog sans live music, then you can always pull up a diner stool atop the Walk of Fame and grab a bite at Skooby’s any time. They've got super taste in food and music -- something bipedal and quadrepedal creatures can enjoy alike.
