Ashton Kutcher: Hollywood Maverick?

Laurie over at LA.Comfidential informs us that yesterday was "That 70s Show" star Ashton Kutcher 27th birthday. One of the things Young Mr. Kutcher's received as a gift was Complex Magazine naming him #1 Hollywood "Maverick, Free Spirit...Superstar and Vice Enabler" in their Burn Hollywood Burn issue.

#1? Really? LAist is sure there are other high profile movers and shakers in Hollywood that are deserving of that maverick label than Ashton. What about director F. Gary Gray (who they have on their list at #15) who is the director of the movie with the most entertaining trailer out right now, Be Cool or, if you want to go more hipster, how about Zach Braff?

Surely, hanging with P.Diddy isn't a requirement of non-confirmity. In fact, we'd argue that hanging with Diddy puts you in the most offending pack of pop culture conformists. Complex Magazine also wonders why people are so prone to hate on Ashton. Really, we want to like the guy, we're just still upset over The Butterfly Effect.
