In Bad Taste

The hits just keep on comin' in the Metrolink disaster. But this time, such insensitivity could have been avoided.

A brand-new commercial that was whipped-up quickly in the wake of the Metrolink train derailment by the law offices of Jacoby & Meyers informs viewers that, "If you have been injured in the Glendale train accident, you may be entitled to compensation and there may be insurance that covers your injuries... Our investigators are already attempting to determine if this terrible accident could have been avoided."

Sure, LAist is well-aware of the "lawyers-as-sharks" metaphor and the variety of jokes about the profession and those who practice it -- but this is taking it a little too far. LAist can only imagine the fervor in which the partners of said law firm quickly rushed this commercial into production for fear of missing out on the dollars that had their firm's name on it. Honestly, couldn't they have waited a little bit longer? Perhaps just let injured victims find them -- without broadcasting how desperate they are for clients from such a horrible accident?

We think so. What about you?

Jacoby & meyers have been running ads like this for years and years... but they never had the "Larry H Parker got ME 1,000,000 dollars" tagline to really set them apart.

I like accidentes the best. 222-2222!
