XTRA Sports 690 used to be the LA sports talk station based out of (shhhh...) San Diego. They would air USC games and other LA sporting events. But the feed was always lousy in LA. When XTRA boosted its antenna power in the late-90s, you could hear the station all the way up to Oregon, but it still came in choppy in the San Fernando Valley.

Recently all seemed solved with XTRA's new "Super Station" which had the same programming aired simultaneously on both 690 and 1150 AM. While it was supposed to be an LA and San Diego station, it basically became LA's sports talk station plus that Hacksaw guy in San Diego (IIIIIIII.... waaaaant to talk sports with YOU! Show me your lightning Bolt!") But after XTRA effectively became a station where 90% of the callers whined about the Lakers, it figured it might as well move to the newly purchased Lakers flagship station KLAC 570. Now Mychael Thompson won't have to suffer a station identity crisis, and we get to more of Joel Myers on sports talk. Yes!

LAist is fine with the move. We don't mind our sports talk interrupted by Laker games, and we are thrilled that Clipper games will only interrupt musical programming on 1150 AM now. But what about our San Diegan friends to the south? Can they hear their beloved XTRA Sports anymore? Will their feed be filled with static? They've already put up with Laker banter. They've already put up with Jim Rome once being aired on tape delay. They already deal with zero Padre talk.

So San Diego, what do you have to say? IIIIIII.... waaaaaaaant to hear from YOU!
