LAist has spent many hours in the past week compiling photos of world landmarks: the Great Wall, Chapel Bridge, Roman ruins, Cordoba Mosque, Notre Dame, Mayan pyramids, Tower Bridge, the Eiffel Tower, the Sydney Opera House—you get the idea.

All this thinking about world landmarks got us thinking about the landmarks LA is known for. After all, we do cover more area than pretty much any other city in the world, so we should be way ahead in our number of landmarks and notable locations.
