I'm actually very excited to hear suggestions. I never make it out to the LBC so Bake & Broil sounds like as good a reason as any.

Marleigh, next time I'm running in the Marina, I'll be sure to check out East Coast Bagel Shop!

If this is an on-going pursuit of best breakfasts, you really have to drive down here to Long Beach to the Bake & Broil. I grew up going there, and I never really got all the fuss about John O'Groats (not that it's bad, far from it)--Bake & Broil is great (and I have no relationship to the owners).

My vote for best breakfast goes to Russell's in Pasadena. Awesome food, great coffee, reasonable prices—the only drawback is the long wait.

I guess that's just the price you pay for excellent omelettes.

My second favorite place to get breakfast is the East Coast Bagel shop in Marina del Rey. They make awesome bagel sandwiches, and there is a Coffee Bean within strolling distance.
