From the Dark Side

As the Domino's commercial on TV last night pointed out, Tuesday is the least popular night of the week. It isn't the dreaded Monday, nor that Happy Hump Day Wednesday, nor even the nearly-Friday Thursday. It is just a day where we all sit around contemplating the better part of the week left ahead and all the commuting, laundry, car washing, marketing and other inanities that need to be taken care of during the week. LAist suggests getting out of the house to conquer such thoughts, and tonight's events are just the thing!

Tonight at Book Soup on Sunset is a double signing: Dave Eggers and Company present and sign Created in Darkness by Troubled Americans: The Best of McSweeney’s, Humor Category: 1998 - 2003 and Jim Shepard presents and signs Project X and Love & Hydrogen. The McSweeney's crew includes contributors Jim Ruland, Alysia Gray Painter, Peter Ferland and assorted others. Things get started at 7:00 PM; LAist suggests showing up early to keep ahead of the crowd!

At Spaceland, catch former Replacement (and member of the new Guns 'n' Roses) Tommy Stinson performing with Alien Crime Syndicate. Doors open at 9:00 PM.
