LAist just has to wonder aloud what normal American people (living outside of Hollywood) are supposed to glean from HBO's latest wannabe insider comedy, Entourage.

After screening the first few episodes of the brand-new series (already renewed for its second season which, by HBO-scheduling standards, should be finished and airing during the Apocalypse), viewers have been privy to the behind-the-scenes life of one up-and-coming actor. Such amazing revelations have been made: that male actors attract (a) women, (b) money, and (c) friends who want women and money. Throw in a meglomaniacal agent and some quick-talking publicists and you've got something that, well, was pretty damn good when HBO called it The Larry Sanders Show.

While pondering HBO's previously successful shows and their ability to attract viewers through dramatic situations that hit close to home, LAist suspects that an Entourage episode where hot-thesp Vincent overdoses on meth with his psychologist and gets nabbed pocketing $10,000 worth of merchandise from a Santa Monica Abercrombie & Fitch store is probably the real story worth watching.

Maybe during the second season. Hell, there's always hope.
