Death Row Livez
The new CityBeat features a long interview with rapper Kurupt on his new gig as the top A&R man for Tha Row records. Tha Row - formerly known as Death Row - rose to world fame on the rhymes of artists like Tupac Shakur, Dr. Dre, and Snoop Doggy Dogg. He'll be teaming up with infamous rap kingpin Suge Knight, who was recently released from prison after his latest probation violation. Kurupt, renowned for hits like "Girls All Pause," will head up the effort to discover and develop new talent.
LAist is still dazzled by Kurupt's pontifications on the nature of the love in the Snoop Dogg classic "Ain't No Fun," and is pleased to see this new development. Let's all hope he manages to space boogie Tha Row back to global prominence.

It's always amused me that the offices of 'Tha Row' are on such a random and relatively quiet intersection of Wilshire and San Vincente - not exactly keeping it real in the 'hood, but not quite living the dream, as they're perched right on the edge of Beverly Hills.
Remember the big fuss about their billboard featuring a cartoon of a dude sitting on a toliet? All the jewish ladies of the neighborhood were up-in-arms.
